Congratulations to Mrs. Buras for being named the East Baton Rouge Parish Middle School Teacher of the Year. 

Mrs. Buras (center) teaches eighth-grade Social Studies at Southeast Middle School, where she has been for five of her seven years in teaching.  She holds a bachelor’s in Secondary Education: Social Studies from LSU, a master’s in Educational Technology from Boise State University and is studying Educational Leadership currently at the University of Louisiana Lafayette.  Buras received National Board Certification in 2009 and was the Louisiana Council for Social Studies’ Middle School Social Studies Teacher of the Year for the parish in 2009.
