You are very important! I enjoy speaking and meeting parents because communication with me is crucial to your child's success.
1. Responsible, dedicated students should sign up for strings next year! We have a lot of events planned.
2. Keep a working calendar of concerts, competitions, rehearsals, private lessons, and meetings.
3. Students need to bring their instrument back and forth from class (if the student leaves the instrument in my room there are consequences). Also, help them practice regularly.
4. Check www.engrade.com or contact me about grades. You should be worried about your child's grades if they are: not practicing or frequently forgetting their instrument.
5. If your child is in Solo Festival or Talented Music Auditions, please sign them up for lessons so she/he may reach their full potential.
6. Research valuable instruments online or ask me. I can usually get "teacher discounts" on bows, rosin, instruments, so contact me with your questions.
7. Please sit your child down and have him/her give a "Mini-Concert" every week. This will help with their performance experience.
8. Get your child involved in future performance opportunities: LJYO, LYO, school orchestras, competitions, summer programs, etc.
9. If your child is interested in music as a career, contact me.
10. Expose them to different musical genres and be present at all concerts.
THANK YOU PARENTS!
