At Southeast Middle we have a three tier literacy initiative to assist our students in becoming proficient on grade level readers and writers.

ü      Tier one involves all students whom over the course of the year will participate in school wide vocabulary and comprehension strategies.

ü      Tier two is for our students who scored an Approaching Basic on their I-leap. The students are tested by the Scholastic Reading Inventory and if they qualify are placed into the Read180 program

ü      Tier three is for our students who scored an Unsatisfactory on their I-leap. The students are tested by the Language! Placement Student Edition and if they qualify are placed into Language! for the next two years.
