DESCRIPTION OF COURSE

Writer’s workshop is a writing class which works to build students' fluency in writing through continuous and repeated exposure to the writing process. The class aims to strengthen students spelling, grammar and punctuation skills, while teaching them how to write across different genres and formats. Students continuously practice the 7 step writing process through various writing exercises and activities, while learning how to accept/apply conference feedback in both one-on-one (teacher/student) settings, as well as, peer pairing. The class aims to prepare students with the practical writing skills necessary for the I-leap/Leap examination.
