Community Based

Description of Course

 

Students in the Community Based classroom engage in various small/whole group and academic/functional skills training.    The skills taught in the classroom setting are then assessed in weekly community training experiences, where the students engage in performance based assessments.    

 

Textbook

 

Textbooks are not utilized in the Community Based classroom setting.  The students utilize worksheets, special computer software, and engage in teacher created activities via whole group and small group instruction.  The students also have access to teacher created materials/books as well as electronic downloaded books for reading.

 

Websites

 

Special computer software is utilized which may include the following:  Classroom Suite, Test Me Score Me, Show Me Math, and Show Me Spelling. Additionally, students will also have access to electronic books that they are able to use in the classroom setting.
