Earth Science

DESCRIPTION OF COURSE

Earth Science is the study of how and why the world around us works.  Through this course, our students will gain an understanding of the different areas, the methods and the goals of science.

It is important to know how scientists use different views of the earth to explain the matter and the processes of the earth.  Our students will gain an insight on the structure, chemical properties and physical properties of Earth’s matter.

TEXTBOOK

There are several books for Earth Science.  We use integrated Science Explorer Books.  The book that will be used for most of the course is the Science Explorer Adventures in Life, Earth, and Physical Science.   This book is available for use in class.  Homework is reinforcement and no textbook is necessary to complete homework assignments.  The itext is a CD based Earth Science Textbook that students can check out from their teachers at leisure to use at home.
